Wolves in introduced to Swedish territory after many years?
Wolves are believed to have naturally migrated to Sweden from Finland and/or Russia in the 1800s. However, due to hunting and habitat destruction, they were almost completely eradicated from the country by the early 20th century. In recent years, efforts have been made to reintroduce wolves to certain regions of Sweden, and the first individuals were successfully reintroduced in the 1980s.
